This piece delves into the complex relationship I have with my mother. How my inability to clearly communicate with her in our native language, has gradually diminished our connection over time. To symbolize this, I used an image of a mother carrying her child on her back, This is often seen in numerous African countries. How I never got to experience this myself, due to me leaving back home at a very young age. Overall this work acts as metaphor for my own experience of growing up without the constant presence of a mother figure.
