“The top causes for homelessness in Toronto are unemployment, substances, and abuse. These are major issues in a city that doesn’t offer too many positive or helpful solutions to re-enter, and be able to sustain yourself in society. This thesis focuses on designing a transitional housing system for the homeless, that will focus on providing, a positive psychological healing response to the occupants. Throughout the architecture and the building’s programs, the goal is to help the people transition into being able to sustain themselves in the community, and help overcome negative responses.”
