Produced during my final semester of illustration, this piece explores the concept of magical realism. I was tasked with interpreting Laura Chow Reeve’s short story, '1,000-Year-Old Ghosts,' a compelling narrative centered on three generations of women who preserve their memories through the act of pickling. My work focuses on the story’s conclusion: a scene where a broken jar releases a flood of memories that physically envelop the main character.
