Reclaiming the Don

Environmental Design
2021
Reclaiming the Don is an urban design project targeting the South Riverdale Neighbourhood of East Toronto. The site on 21 Don Valley is one subjected to intersections of urban walls as well as circulating paths. Located on the site is the old Unilever factory once inhabited to produce soap. The project proposes an exploration of the ideas of social engagement, community, rejuvenation, and reuse in the urban city environment. How can we prepare for urban sprawl while also reclaiming land that is no longer in use?
