12:09 in duration. This was my first attempt at a film and an important exploration regarding my investigation into what type of site is necessary for the creative act.

“My signature "office" set up in various sites around Toronto Island. I recorded myself writing stream-of-consciousness poetry and later distilled a poem from the cumulative typed pages. I did not communicate with onlookers when they appeared instead absorbing myself in the creative act of typing. In each spot I hung up my typewritten work with clothespins like they were fresh laundry. I was interested in what was left between my words, how much work artists must do in order to distill some smaller meaning or message from it. The recording picked up a reality of the moments that was parallel to my experience. The words frame the project as much as the camera lens does, and the moments were so much bigger than could be fit into any of the resulting expressions.”
