Sustainable initiatives have seen huge growth in recent years, leading to the development of some new and innovative environmentally-conscious products. I created these bar shampoo packaging designs in collaboration with Anna Sokyrka, a student from the Illustration program at OCAD University. We were mindful of creating an engaging shopping experience through scent and tangibility since consumers enjoy smelling and seeing their soaps.

“Bar shampoo eliminates the need for plastic bottle packaging and often utilizes natural ingredients.”

Since we were working with bar shampoo, the product does not need much protection from exposure. Therefore, we could cut holes in the box. We also measured the soap and shaped the dieline to perfectly fit the dimensions of the bar. The corners of the bar that stick out from the holes in the packaging will allow customers to see and smell the shampoo.
