still waiting is an object atop a projecting base akin to a monument. Like Benjamin’s ruin, monuments serve as reminders of past achievement or aspiration, while also suggesting something future-oriented, helping us visualize what might come later. Rather than referencing the built world explicitly, the form seems to commemorate the animal. This monument-like object recalls themes from my past work that addressed how the built environment shapes the development of relationships and interactions between humans and animals.
