“This thesis explores the transformative impact of the new Ontario line Subway, on the neighborhood, Riverdale, Toronto - a uniquely suburban area on the verge of urban integration. By focusing on strategic urban planning and design interventions at the core of Dundas St and Carlaw Ave - The heart of Riverdale - and along the underdeveloped Carlaw Avenue this study aims to establish a resilient, revitalized urban fabric capable of supporting and strengthening the environmental and socio-economic well-being of the community. Through comprehensive analysis and innovative design strategies, this research contends that thoughtfully reimagined public spaces and infrastructure are crucial in harnessing the potential of the Ontario line to foster connectivity, community vibrancy, and sustainable growth in Riverdale.”
