Titled “YUTe*” [(Jamaican Patois) a young black person] is a collection of domestic objects and semi-functional furniture totalling 5 pieces. Through this series I embark on a creative practice of storytelling through spaces and installations informed by my childhood and Caribbean heritage. Sub-titled “Fragments of Home” my thesis collection explores the personal narratives of what I consider to be HOME through archival imagery, metaphorical objects, and semi-functional furniture.
