THE MANTO

The Mantos explore notions of erasure and defacement perpetrated by multiple socio-cultural systems.The serie Mantos emerged in a dialogue with the Parangolés of Brazilian artist Hélio Oiticica. Working with deconstructed garments, each piece was sewed it together as a quilt of patchworks, to create a wearable cloak. Eudoro Manto’s pretend to be a symbolic and active component in his research for effacement structures and cultural inclusion.
