Mapping through stitches

These colours remind me of my Iranian heritage and motifs. Tunic piece illustrates nonliteral pathway from Tehran to Toronto. In the meantime, it displays some significant moments that I should have expected. This is shown through me using yarns with different thickness and colours on this garment.The small holes on the sleeves are signifiers of unpleasant moments and thoughts I faced on my way. Transparent parts of the tunic are substantial evidence for what I left behind in Iran.

These pieces of evidence I left behind were comprised of physical and emotional possessions. Emotional barriers I discharged created gaps in my heart and soul.
