This memory depiction surrounds the childhood ritual of chasing butterflies; ones that were unknowingly moths. Through this ephemerally charged body of work that desperately attempts to hold a tangible form through chained wire sculptures and bead patched diluted ink drawings, I intend to visually preserve the distinct moments within my memory; all of which lead up to a moment where through the repeated questioning of their nature, the winged forms re-transform as did the ones within my memory.
“A fragmented memory of a childhood ritual; one only as ephemeral as the lepidopteran forms it is depicted as, and only as tangible as patches, ink, wire, beads, and chains.”
