Sophie Duarte is an interdisciplinary artist based in Tkaronto. Soon to graduate from OCAD University from the Integrated Media Program. Her work is rooted in film, video, stop motion animation, miniature sets, and character building. Interested in discovering media’s role in reclaiming agency of identity, sexuality, and transformation. Through the collection of archival footage as well as materials from her past, she is able to construct absurd narratives that explore both personal and collective experiences.
