Experimental Animation
“Marisa's work is an exploration of immersive space and the artistic experience from a perspective of self-growth and the natural cycles of life. Her most recent work, Cycles of Growth is an animated installation that showcases projected animation on a layered surface of clear acetate with painted mark-makings. Cycles of Growth explores dimension and space in animations as an immersive installation of acetate layers, reflections and shadows, taking the 2-D animation into the physical world. Her inspiration was drawn from her exploration of the concepts: change and growth in her artistic practice and as well as in her personal life. Cycles of Growth was the medium that helped her express herself, process her feelings, and figure out her voice as an artist. ”
