In the Photography program, students learn skills from darkroom to digital photography. Unlike some other photography programs, which focus on commercial photography, OCAD U’s Photography program is more artistic and experimental.
“Even within the confines of the lens, we know no limitation in this discipline. ”
“Who knew you could be a photographer without a camera? It is this notion that has propelled my creative practice beyond anything I could have envisioned when I first came to OCAD. ”
“I'm a Toronto-based photographer and mixed media artist who tries not to take myself or my practice too seriously. My work tends to combine visual and tactile mediums like photography, painting, collage, and embroidery. ”

“Photography is the most romantic for me, it is the most real and vivid memory in the world, and the most subjective perspective and imaginary world. ”
“Yijun Ge is a portrait photographer based in Toronto. She focuses on the relationship between the individual and the external world, personal identity, and narrative. Photography is a way to make her feel connected to the world. ”
“Haoyu's works are concerned with fundamental issues, and photography is the medium that best aligns with his artistic expression. ”
“My practice is stemmed from everyday experience. From the problem of existence to the problem of representation, photography is my tool to manifest the ambiguity between materiality and spirituality. ”
