“To better understand the body and the self, my work focuses on the emotional and affective qualities of personal experiences that are intra-connected with relationships, sex and love. In conversation with affect theory, my work revisits and (re)imagines affective events and desires through intimate and visceral (re)creations. I create intuitively and without physical sources, allowing for imagination to guide the desired experiences and to better illustrate the emotions and feelings of the lived ones. Much like sex, love, and relationships, my works are ever-changing, they evolve as I evolve, however they can all be bound together through their display of vivid colours, the emphasis on touch and the array of connections that occur between the figures and objects within their grounded space.”
I am a Toronto born and based artist who has recently graduated from the Drawing and Painting BFA program at OCAD University. When I'm not painting you can find me scouring thrift shops, craft stores, and supermarket aisles in search of new materials and inspiration. I have recently transitioned my practice to clothing design, focusing on playful knitwear and crochet sweaters, and hope to keep exploring new mediums that peak my interest.
