Performance, Sculpture, Drawing

“Working from an initial smudging with pencil crayon, I begin to see images within the clouds of pink. Imagery of love, fertility, fandom, sport and pornography begin to layer atop of each other as if they are fleeting moments transforming into the next. The symbols have an apparition like quality in reference to the 1981 sightings of the Mother Mary in Medugorje, a town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where 5 young children claimed to see and speak to the Virgin Mary. In the vein of desire and belief I explore the yearning of something which exceeds itself in a manifestation of the mental to the physical. I find myself considering my own yearning for the eventuality of love, which, exists within my drawings as do other symbols of belief and materialization of such.”

I am a multidisciplinary artist working in performance, sculpture and drawing. Focusing on the human experience, I am interested in ways which belief becomes a survival mechanism. As a CRCP student I critically focus on how femininity informs my lens and reconsider what I have accepted or rejected my reality.
