“As an artist and maker I aim to translate my memories into design so I can turn the conceptual into something physical. I am driven by the colours and compositions found in architectural structures and arrangements, and often my work is a conceptual illustration of my surroundings.”

Isabella Valeria Bontorin is a Toronto based textile designer and artist that specializes in the art of rug making. Through traditional crafting methods such as tufting, felting, weaving, and surface design she creates textiles that reflect the feeling of an environment, adding to the mood and comfort that one might find in it. She creates pieces for interiors with a primary focus on how living environments and the objects within them affect human behavior and endure through memories.
