Interdisciplinary
“Nest 2022 encapsulates play between inner and outer worlds, proposing visual bridges between the two. Through painting and sculpture, I visualize & map emotion and pain in my body. Through installation, I explore what it means for a place to be sacred, comfortable, devotional, home. In each of these formats drawing inspiration from the natural world around me, considering cycles of life and death, and interconnected webs of ecosystems. Operating from a place of curiosity and wonder, I seek to capture a sense of the ephemeral, the intangible and the spiritual in my work. I know that both worlds, inner and outer, are in fact both parts of the same whole. ”

Iris Adrienne Langlois-Smith is an emerging interdisciplinary artist currently based in Tkaronto/Toronto. For the past 5 years, she has not been able to stop drawing tulips.
