“Green Thumbs” is a series following a child who is joined by whimsical plant characters, each teaching them how they survive daily life. Taking inspiration from the various survival mechanisms and lifestyles of these plants, this child learns how to approach their own struggles and obstacles faced in childhood.”
Pirashan Ambihaibahan, also known as Piru, is a Sri-Lankan-Canadian illustrator and comic artist based in the GTA (Mississauga). While often quiet and soft-spoken, he has a vivid and rampant imagination expressed in the cute, colourful and whimsical nature of his practice and work, mainly using watercolour and gouache to do so. Having been fond of books, comics and cartoons while growing up, he strives to inspire and invite others into the many worlds and characters he creates as well, telling stories filled with a lot of magic and fun, but also with sweet and thoughtful messages.
