Life Studies
“Ashlynn likes to dream through vivid colours and unlimited possibilities. She is a multi-disciplinary artist, innovator, poet, and dreamer, in her final year in the Life Studies program at OCAD University, with a Minor in Art & Social Change. She has successfully led a variety of art-healing workshops and is currently an Art Healing & Expression Practitioner. Her work centres on healing through intergenerational trauma & addictions, through storytelling and spoken word. She works in mediums of drawing, painting, and sculpture to interpret the nuanced ebbs and flows of the world around her. She successfully self-published her first book of poetry and has experience as a mural painter. In addition, is the current Student Leader of the Connection Earth Collaborative (CEC). Ashlynn has had solo exhibitions at Gallery 1313, Gerrard Art Space (GAS) in Toronto, and Visual Arts Mississauga at Riverwood. She placed 1st as a finalist at the Hamilton Poetry Slam in December 2023. For Ashlynn, art is a vehicle to transport, translate, and transform ideas of life, love, loss, and finding her voice through imaginative avenues. ”
