Zavia Forrest is a fifth-year Integrated Media student at OCAD. Coming from a film background and transferring to OCAD from UBC's Film Production program, Zavia expanded her practice to include digital media, sculpture, and installation work. Zavia's work focuses on Black womanhood and fertility, and explores the complexity of the Black femme body and its relationship to the society it lives and exists in. Zavia's works, Oasis and Over(sexualized)stimulated are smaller projects that culminate towards her broader study that will be expanded on in the fall. Zavia starts her Master's in Interdisciplinary Studies at OCAD in Fall 2024.
