“"Materialistic Cravings" explores the rise of intertwining desire and consumerism, questioning the attraction towards goods and services that do not always meet our needs. Synthesizing desire with surrealist elements emphasizing the continued consumption in a search to achieve contentment. ”
Grace Vali is a multidisciplinary illustrator based in Toronto. She is currently studying at OCAD University for illustration (BDes). She conjures images and stories that carry sociopolitical themes that are synthesized with humour and surrealist aesthetics. Incorporating humour is an important aspect in Grace's practice as she believes it helps viewers retain the messages within the work and increases relatability. She welcomes commissions, freelance, commercial, editorial, and publishing work.
