Drawing and Painting

“Inspired by a family of storytellers, artists, and collectors, I draw on autobiographical mental and material histories, personal archives, and objects—all situated within the context of childhood—to explore the emotional landscapes of memory. In my reconstructed narratives, some details fade and fragment, while others return unexpectedly, guiding my work as it navigates the tension between preservation and loss. Through this archival interaction, I open a safe space for therapeutic dialogue between my past, present, and future selves.Drawing from memory-making practices like scrapbooking, my layered archival approach strikes a delicate balance of ambiguity—personalized documents transform into compositions that allow viewers to engage with their inner child and find comfort in the ambivalence of nostalgia.”
