“What I create is real to me. My creations live in a liminal world separate from ours. I frequent this world in order to communicate my lived experiences.”

Maggie Cameron is a multi-disciplinary artist located in Toronto, Ontario. In her practice she often investigates the tendencies, notions and thematics of girlhood, nostalgia, liminality, and body horror. Her creations live in a world that is real to her, yet separate from ours. She frequents this space in order to process and communicate her own lived experience. Her goal is to share this world with others so that they are able to experience, process, and relate to her personal experiences in their own way. She represents this world through mixed media animation, and live action film. This medium allows her to immerse the viewer into what her world not only looks like–but sounds, tastes, and smells like. Cameron has shown work at the Gladstone Hotel, Natia Lamay’s Private studio, as well as "Cafeteria". She has been involved in arts education since grade six, with enrollment in Karen Kain School of the Arts middle school and graduated as an Ontario Scholar from Etobicoke School of the Arts. She is now graduating from The Ontario College of Art and Design University, with a BFA in Experimental Animation.
