Tyler

Orellana

aka. Snail Sniffer, 3D Artist and Oil Painter

“As a figure painter, my art connects with how I come to understand my own body. Through experimental brush strokes, I am able to imbue my figures with an uncanniness that is representative of emotional, psychological, and physical experiences. Stemming from my painting practice, my work in 3D programs has enabled me to bring a more tactile and visceral feel to the figures I create.”

Born January 22nd, 2000. Based in Kitchener, Ontario. Tyler Orellana is an oil painter and 3D artist, whose work focuses on the body and the individual experience of being a body. When not honing his brushstrokes to further reduce the human form, the focus shifts to finding ways to bend reality in 3D software. The balance between free-flowing colorful strokes and a visual style aimed towards the grotesque is only met with the enthusiasm to create. You can find Tyler researching and throwing themselves into their work fully, while having a good cup of matcha.
