“My thesis is a speculative look at the possibility for informal and revolutionary housing in the shell of a center of capitalist hegemony: The BMO Tower. Collective living and autonomy are the goals, and squatting is the means. An aside, both the presenting sponsors for gradex (hullmark and bentallgreenoak) are landlords & real-estate parasites that develop, manage, and hoard large properties away from the people of toronto. Nice !”
My name is Nathan, and I am a designer based in Toronto, Ontario. I believe that design has the potential to be a liberatory tool for oppressed and marginalized people. I am interested in housing justice and the ecological impact of architecture and design.
