“Bringing ideas to life through the press of a (play) button.”

Hello, my name is Justine Magbitang! I am a Filipino-Canadian multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Toronto.Coming into the Digital Futures program from a traditional art education, I found that it added a new dimension to my creative ideas as I was picking up a variety of digital skills and softwares. It was here that I discovered how much I enjoyed game design for its cross-disciplinary nature and being able to learn a little bit of everything from my teammates. Aside from game design, I also discovered my passion for motion design, further developing my animation and video editing skills. My diverse mix of skills allows me to be open-minded and to quickly adapt and learn within any project. My attention to detail and my commitment to presenting a polished and well-thought-out result are my strongest assets when delivering for any project. In each of my works, I like to challenge myself with how to reflect real-life experiences or emotions through digital interactions and animations. I draw inspiration from multiple sources wether it be from film and TV, music, games I've played in the past, other artists and designers that have shaped my interests, or even just my personal life -- using all of these to guide whoever engages with my works through a specific designed experiences. On the side, I co-founded and make video games with DoomScroll Studios, a small studio comprised of fellow OCAD Digital Futures alumni who are eager to make cool digital experiences together!
