Saba Ahi is a Toronto based digital artist and student, currently in her last year at OCAD University. Growing up in Iran to parents with artistic backgrounds, she became greatly influenced in drawing and painting. Fairytales and Disney became the base of her inspiration in art and in storytelling. After going to an all arts high school, she saw art as the most fulfilling career. In her time at OCAD, she took many art history courses along with her studio classes, in order to have the best foundation in putting art theory to practice. With a strong understanding of traditional painting, she began her training and practice in digital art. Her subjects and themes usually revolve around fantasy and mythological stories. Most recently, her work has been reaching towards stories closer to her home and her culture. Her most recent endeavour is bringing untold and overlooked stories to the front by expressing them through art. As a result of her studies, her venture into galleries and exhibitions have only just begun. She has previously exhibited her work in Toronto as both a secondary, and post-secondary student.
