Rumaisa Ahmad is a Pakistani-Canadian multi-media artist and filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada.Her work primarily focuses on lived religious and cultural experiences, utilizing documentary, photography, and mixed-media animation techniques, to explore themes of memory, home, and grief, often influenced by religious exploration. She often utilizes archival materials or home videos to create expanded portraits, believing documentary to be a living dialogue with what already exists. Additionally, she explores print-media and writing as a means of synthesizing research and process. She expects to complete her BFA in Experimental Animation from OCAD University with a Minor in Photography in 2027.
