“My thesis “False Status” examines status symbols throughout history that aren’t very meaningful when looked at through the modern lens in order to show that status symbols and showing off wealth is a vain and ultimately meaningless activity when seen through a bigger scope, as with time, such symbols all lose their status.”
Hello! My name is Sinyoung Kim, and I am a Korean artist now based in Toronto. I specialize in character illustrations along with skills in environment and prop design/illustrations. My passion lies in narrative illustrations where an image tells a story. I am most influenced by mediums that tell a story such as films, animations, and games. I am thrilled to take my learnings from OCAD to continue growing as an artist that creates such inspiring work.
