“"My work comes from a place of looking to the future with hope for the Earth and for the resilience of nature, but also an understanding of just how deep of a mess we're in. I approach each piece with curiosity and wonder, as well as a deep desire to escape into the alternate universes I create."”
I am a mixed-media, Toronto-based artist. My work examines the complex and interwoven relationship between humans and nature in city spaces. Through monochromatic green paintings of familiar buildings and cityscapes, I explore a post-apocalyptic world that reflects the aftermath of climate change, and answers the question “What might remain after humans?” I primarily use gouache and watercolour on wood to create a sense of bonding with nature. My most recent works are based on locations close to my home, university, and workplace, providing a glimpse into my life and experiences living in Toronto and a jumping-off point to creating an alternative reality in my paintings.
