Raahim Tariq is a Lahore-born, Toronto-based artist in his final year of Experimental Animation. He specializes in 2D animation, often blending it with stop-motion to create layered, multidimensional worlds. His work is rich with humor, fantastical characters, and storytelling that reflects his Pakistani heritage, aiming to bring South Asian narratives into the mainstream. Beyond animation, Raahim has a background in fine arts, digital illustration, and graphic design. He has worked as a freelance designer, creating branding, packaging, and digital illustrations for small businesses. His paintings and drawings have been exhibited internationally, from Pakistan and Dubai to Toronto. Recently, he has been experimenting with mixed-media techniques, merging digital illustration with traditional portraiture using colored pencils, ink, charcoal, and oil pastels. His evolving practice bridges the digital and traditional, creating visually textured works that explore identity, culture, and storytelling.
