Erica Young (born 1994) is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist working primarily in intaglio and woodcut. She obtained her BA in Arts and Contemporary Studies from Ryerson University in 2016 and will complete her BFA in Printmaking and Publications from OCAD University in 2022. Her work draws upon early modern history, myth, the cyclical nature of human society, and the historical roots of printmaking for its imagery and motifs. Her roots are in the modern DIY movement though, which is where her work often looks to for its themes; she is fascinated by the end of the world, the collective unconsciousness, everyday rituals, and unspoken feelings. Much of Young's work has appeared on punk show fliers and in DIY zines, though she has also shown in several DIY spaces and galleries across Toronto as well as in Oklahoma City as part of a group show organized by the New York City collective Collective Delusion Mass Hysteria. In 2017 she curated the show posters for the It’s Cold Outside music festival.
