Oil Painting

“Much of my work relies on treating life experiences as multiple and the importance of storytelling. From banal to complex, my oil paintings portray identities and cultures constructed through the stories that we tell ourselves and others. Stories of possibilities and impossibilities! Stories that celebrate the mundane; stories that reveal melancholy and isolation. My new body of work and research focuses on the yearning for a home and need to belong felt within immigrant experiences. My work calls for safe spaces of communal healing while creating avenues for new voices and knowledges to be realized.”
