Interdisciplinary Drawing and Painting
“Set within the dwellings that make tangible the ephemeral qualities of intimacy, my work references personal reflections on desire and moments of belonging/non-belonging. Oscillating between a combination of painting, drawing and assemblage, the physical remnants of intimacy take shape alongside memory, revealing the stories of experience witnessed. ”
Ariana E. Fraser is an interdisciplinary artist working and living in Toronto, Canada. Her practise embodies conceptually narrative painting, which considers a personal and sentimental reflection on intimacy, desire, memory and feelings of belonging/non-belonging. Her work has been featured in group shows such as "The Archive of Merit: from the OSA to OCAD" (2022) and private collections. In addition to her visual practise, Fraser has several critical publications most notably including her essay "Darren Bader: fruit, vegetable; fruit and vegetable salad" in The Senses and Society (Issue 3, Vol. 16).
