Yutong Jessie Zheng is an emerging mixed-media artist with practice in film, animation, and interactive art. She sees herself as a story-teller, constantly trying to find new ways to tell a story through her works both conceptually and technically. With an explorative mindset, not only does she like to come up with fun ideas but also she likes to test the boundary of expressiveness of the medium she works with. She completed a BA in Media Practice at University of Sussex in the UK where she learned the thoughts of forward thinkers in media, and built a firm foundation in media and cultural theories. During her bachelor’s degree, she volunteered at a few digital art festivals where she was greatly inspired by the power and originality of new media art, and wished to explore the possibilities of interactive technologies to tell compelling stories for herself. It was what inspired her to come to the Digital Futures program at OCAD University, a program sitting at the intersection between art and technology.
