“I have a particular interest in storytelling and everything that goes into it. I came into illustration with a focus on concept art, and am currently focused on poster design and graphic novel illustration. I also enjoy frame animation and character design. While I am a more logic-driven person, I think that art inserts emotion into just about everything. I think it's fun to take advantage of this, using it to make meaning out of fact and to share experiences -- whether they are deeply specific or entirely universal. I like work that involves in-depth research, and using that to push my compositions. I find I often make my work into a science, studying both subject matter and techniques to deliver it. Any chance I get to show rather than tell, I dive in head first. Some of my all time favourite stories include The Martian, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, The Marrow Thieves, Invincible, Ducks, and Check, Please. My current favourite colours are sage green and terracotta, but I love working with reds, blues, and pinks. ”

Hi there! I'm Isobel Woodiwiss, freelance illustrator and cartoonist. I'm currently finishing my Bachelor of Design at OCAD University as an illustrator, where I work to make art that speaks louder than words. Previously, I've interned with Embreate as a cartoonist, writer, and artist on the Future Now project, and worked with small business across Ontario. I'm also an avid zine maker, screen printer, and stamp carver in my free time.
