“I specialize in multimedia illustration that celebrates the 'human' side of art, often by leaning into a low-fidelity, low-brow aesthetic; revelling in the raw, rough textures and workings of the human mind. My work is about democratizing art. I want art to be touched, worn, and weathered by daily life.”
Juliet Kim is a Toronto-based illustrator completing the final year of her BDES degree at OCAD, majoring in illustration.She is a multimedia artist whose style gravitates towards low-fidelity, unpolished works. She enjoys linocut printing, emphasizing the handmade feel of this printing technique. She believes that art should exist in as many places as possible, and so has a passion for creating art on functional items, such as clothing, cases, bags, etc., turning the mundane into meaningful visual experiences.
