As a kid in the seventh grade, I looked forward to art class every single Friday. I liked art, but I never loved it. I was good at drawing, but never great. I was better at painting, but I wasn’t the best. I liked being creative so I always wondered, “why didn’t I like any of these things?”What I did like was making One Direction fan art on my first-generation iPad mini. Posting content to my Instagram fan page of 2000 followers taught me two lessons:1. How to understand and talk to a group of people through ideation and design.2. Never get too attached, because one day your favourite boy band will break up and your world will come crashing down.I like to think I do a lot of the same things today – communicate to audiences through the power of creativity without getting too attached to the ideas themselves. Only today, it’s through less fan art and more ads.
