“Domicell, a homophonic pun on the word domicile, depicts the effects of the housing crisis and financial turmoil across cultures and social statuses. The word “cell” implies the sense of entrapment from the foreboding economic outlook, and the use of dynamic angles situates the viewer in the perspective of the subjects. While some illustrations shed light on the grim realities, others presented hints of optimism that sprang from it, a reminder of the indomitable qualities that prevailed through a seemingly endless quandary. ”

Hello! my name is John, and I am an illustrator and a design student studying in Toronto. I aim to reflect my passion for science and fantasy fiction in my work, by creating scenic environments, intriguing characters, and a compelling narrative. Character splash art is one of my specialties. By using tight angles and dynamic composition, I could depict suspense through interactions between characters or with the environment. For inquiries, feel free to reach out via mortemflail@gmail.com, or my socials to receive frequent updates on my current projects.
