“Miracles are Afoot is a series of illustrations depicting different miracles that have shaped my family's history, combining magical realism elements and heavily influenced by Mexican imagery, to honor stories of resilience and faith. The collection works as a medium for heritage conservation and memory. ”
Maria de los Angeles is a Mexican artist and illustrator based in Toronto. She crafts with textures, warm colours, and whimsy to create detailed pieces, working mainly for advertising and editorial projects.She has a genuine passion for engaging and collaborating with creative communities. Her latest exhibitions include I speak as you sway the foliage at Boxcar Social (2024), Project Crea exhibition at HQ Gallery (2024), and La Obra es de Quien la Planta (A Plant’s Oeuvre), hosted by JXTX (2024) in Mexico City.
