Adora Lau is a second-generation Chinese immigrant based in Whitchurch-Stouffville, Canada. Her work is a meditative exploration of her personal relationship with loss, family, and the limited ties that connect with her homeland of Hong Kong. Her practice uses a range of acrylic, watercolour, and charcoal medium, often through labour intensive processes and explorative presentation method. The artworks she creates are forms of letting go, to evoke senses of finality, nostalgia, and tranquility that follows acceptance.
