“My work investigates the fluidity of memory through the intimate lens of my relationship with my sister. Using oil paint to capture both luminous detail and atmospheric blur, I reconstruct shared childhood scenes to explore how our personal history is reshaped over time.My body of work explores how factors such as daydreaming and imagination help reconstruct remembered experiences. In these paintings, I explore the shift between sharp realism, which denotes the actual memory, and the soft, hazy look that represents the way my mind fills in the gaps with daydreams.By experimenting with scale and orientation—expanding a portrait-sized photograph into a panoramic landscape or focusing on the symbolic weight of our clothing—I visualize how our shared past is not a static record, but a living, expansive narrative.”
