Elliot Black is a disabled queer writer based in Toronto, Canada. He specializes in language poetry, short fiction, and creative nonfiction. He has performed all over the city, including the Toronto International Festival of Authors, The Nia Centre, Emerging Writer Series through Glad Day Bookshop and more. He is also a former poetry editor of OCAD’s Pulse Journal and has run writing workshops through Friends of Ruby and Shad Canada. His work is nostalgic, hopeful, deeply personal and occasionally romantic. He has graduated with honors with a BFA in Creative Writing and has recently completed his first book of poetry, titled Please Don’t Read.
