Meet the Artist
Zaid
Irfan
Surrealist and Meditator of the Self and the World
“My recurring inclination towards the strange and the surreal is one that has caused my work to become antithetical to the common notion that design should prioritize effective communication, as I have instead sought to create pieces that replicate the air of ambiguity that is present in dreams, as well as in the surreal and elliptical works of other artists and creators. Blended in further are my own personal sensibilities pertaining to loneliness, unconscious processes, post-humanism, and the human condition.”

Zaid's practice is one that has straddled between many different disciplines and mediums, with illustration, writing, filmmaking, animation, publication design, 3D modeling, and web development being the most recurring throughout his overall body of work. Increasingly so, however, he has found himself becoming more inclined towards filmmaking and traditional animation as his primary focuses, and web development, particularly using Three.js and Blender, as a secondary focus. Both, however, equally allow him to fulfill his primary objective of creating worlds and stories that are true to his own idiosyncrasies and individual experiences.
