Em Moor is a lens-based multidisciplinary artist in Toronto, Ontario. Her work incorporates elements of collection and archiving, both with objects and moments. She works intuitively by using emotion and disposition to inform her artistic process, allowing concepts to appear through the process of art-making. For her latest ongoing work "Memento Vivere" being exhibited at GradEx 107, Em has spent the last two years collecting garbage that has washed up on Toronto's beaches and conducted research on its provenance. Her body of work uses these objects in still-lives reminiscent of 17th Century Dutch paintings, an Arte-Povera-style readymade sculpture, and video work.
