“My work is about whose stories are valued, elevated, and validated. It is important to me to tell stories differently, and to refuse to make them easily consumable. The most important thing for me is to give queer people work that makes them feel seen and heard. That celebrates us in our fullness. That invites the world to join us in our joy – in our Becoming.”
My name is McKenna Pipher (they/them), and I am a Nonbinary, Trans and Queer digital artist and animator with an interest in gender, sexuality, liminality, and embodiment. I work in a variety of artistic forms including comics, 2D animation and digital drawing and painting, and I am a twice published writer. My short story “They Speak of Change” and my essay “Raising the Stakes” have been published in OCAD University’s Arts and Sciences Review, with the latter being selected as a prize winner.
