Kyla Friel is currently completing her final year in Visual and Critical Studies. As an emerging writer, she has served on the editing committee of OCAD’s Journal of Visual and Critical Studies, and her work has been published in UofT’s undergraduate Art History journal. Her primary research interests include myth and folklore in art, depictions of illness, mania, magic and trickery in pre-Enlightenment painting, and the role of museums in culture. She plans to continue her research at the graduate level.
