Hi! I’m Mya D. Rojas, a creative based in Toronto, Canada. With previous education at George Brown completing a certification in the Foundations of Art and Design, I went into OCADU to narrow my practice to become an Illustrator, however I also experiment a lot with different artistic methods as well! I am an acrylic painter who focuses on portraiture and vibrant colours that compliment a person’s aura and personality, a jewellery-maker that uses wire and colour theory to create intricate bead designs for necklaces and bracelets, and a wood carver that channels into the ability to perceive 2d objects on paper into 3d objects. As an Illustrator, I find myself telling stories through my digital medium. Though having a comic, I like to incorporate elements into my art that make the viewer question if theres more than meets the eye. I add a bit of my own history into each piece and character I make to show a piece of myself is within every brush stroke, every colour choice and symbol. I love to tell a story through a still image, creating enchanting and curious scenarios that leave the viewer with a hunger for more.
